Hyatt Place Iowa City Downtown

LikedRoom 921 was a corner room with windows from floor to ceiling the view was awesome.

DislikedWhat I didn’t like was the fitness center. Felt it could have used a little more variety of machines.

LikedBreakfast was good. Didn't have the microwave visible.

DislikedParking sucked

LikedThe breakfast was great! The location was very convenient for the purpose of our trip

DislikedA microwave in the room would have been more convenient but we had access to one in the dining area.

LikedThe breakfast was excellent. The facility was clean. The location was great for campus visit. Staff member promptly brought up the missing sheet for the sofa bed, and a blanket.

Disliked1) We made a reservation several weeks in advance for two queen beds, however, upon arrival there were no rooms of this type available. We were told that because we booked with a 3rd party (booking.com), there’s no guarantee made from the hotel about the reservation. Exhausted from a long car ride and starving, we were not about to go shopping for other hotels and accepted the other available option and one of us said to sleep on a sofa bed. 2) the thermostat did not have a “fan only” option, which is a shock given this is a relatively new property. Thus, the room is either stuffy, or either too cold or too hot. 3) hotel information says it has a pool and spa. There is no spa (hot tub or sauna, etc)
